Land Train Hire
If you are looking for land train hire you have come to the right place
Firstly we need to tell you what a land train is. A land train is a vehicle that is designed to look like a actual train that drives on a railway track, but the land train can drive on grass and on roads. The train is comprised of one steam engine that is powered with a diesel engine but is designed to look like the beautiful steam engines. Behind the the steam engine is 3 carriages each with 15 to 20 seats depending the size of the people, so with all 3 carriages that is a total of 45 to 60 seats. The train carriages are designed to look like the traditional train carriages and they also come with weather protectors so if the weather turns bad we can keep all the passengers riding the train dry. If needed the land train can also be used with just 1 or 2 carriages. Less carriages makes it easier for us to transport which makes it cheaper to hire.
Some land trains out there for hire only have small engines and small wheels which gives them not enough power to pull the carriages up hills and also makes them need regular stops to help them cool down. At Eddy leisure we only hire the best high quality land trains with the correct sized engines and wheels needed, so no matter your route, grass our tarmac you can have peace of mind that our land trains can provide the service we have promised.
Why hire a land train?
Land trains can be used for a range of different purposes for your event/venue. Below I have written a few ways you can use a land train.
1. Land trains can be used to transport your guests from one part of your event to another. This can be very helpful for guests who struggle to walk around a large event.
2. Land trains can be used as a site-seeing transportation vehicle. If you have a large event you can plan a route for the land train, and with this route we can show your guests around your event or venue.
3. If the event car park is a long walk from the main entrance the land train can be used to transport some of your guests to your event and back to the car park.
4. Land trains do not just have to be for events you can also hire them for site-seeing your venues. For example you could hire a land train to view across seasides, zoos, shopping centres and town centres.
Obviously there are loads of other ways you can use a land train at your event and venues, above is just to give you a idea of a few options.

Land Train Cheap Quotes
When looking around for quotes for land trains please be careful of the cheap quotes out there. To achieve cheap quotes something has to be cut, for example maintenance costs so the rides are not kept to the best quality or it could be the salary of the staff and as they say if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. This all adds up to providing a poor service.
We hate to have to write this but we get customers if we can attend event at last minute as the company who quoted them the cheapest quote can not do the event or has not provide the services they promised. We would love to attend as many events as we can but when customers ask to hire our land trains last minute it is sometimes impossible for us to get ready for the event in time or we are already booked for another event. Please always book with a trusted supplier.

Land Train Hire
With the hire of the land train we will provide a trained and licensed driver for the driving of the train. We also provide a trained train conductor who will help all the passengers on and off the train and also they will ride on the back of the train to watch over all their passengers to make sure everyone is happy.
How long can you hire a land train for? You can hire a land train from a few hours to has long as you want. For a quote please contact us with the details of your event and we will give you the best quote we can do for your event.
The land trains are fully road legal, so let us know if this is something you are needing as to operate on the road a land train needs to require a Vehicle Special Order from the Department of Transport, if you can not do this, we can help arrange it for you.
Standard land train hire comes with 2 carriages that can hold 30 to 40 passengers but we can also add 1 extra carriage so the land train can carry 45 to 60 passengers if needed.
Delivery And Setup
The land train is transported on the back of a large transport vehicle, so when we arrive at the venue we will need enough space to park up and reverse the land train off the large transport vehicle.
Reversing the land train off the transport vehicle and preparing the land train for operation takes approx 60 minutes. If you are branding or advertising on the adverting signs on to top of the carriages you will need to add some extra time to the setup to install the branding or advertising.
Operating
The land train will be operated by our fully trained and licensed driver. The drive will also be accompanied by our trained train conductor at all times. The conductors job is to look after all the passengers and if you are wanting to charge the passengers the conductor can do this also. The conductors job is also to to sit on the back of the train to watch for kids and teenagers trying to jump on the train when in operating. At Eddy Leisure we take the safety of the public very seriously.
We will drive and operate the land train on the route we agreed before the event. We can arrange a site meeting before the event to help you plan a route you would like for use if needed.
Land Train Hire Cost
There is a number of things to consider when calculating the land train hire cost.
1. Length of operating time
The length of operating time is one of the big factors when calculating the cost. The standard hire times for land train hire is 6 hours hire and 8 hours hire but we can give you a quote for as many hours as you like.
The reason the length of time effects the total cost is because the staff are paid hourly so the longer the serving time the more we will have to pay our staff.
2. Time of day
The time of day effects the cost of the land train hire because if you are wanting us to operate past 10pm we will have to pay our staff extra for the unsociable hours. Also if the event is in to the early hours we might have to have over night accommodation for our staff.
3. Day Of The Week
The day of the week effects the cost as Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are the most in demand days so we will need to charge or going rates, but if your event is through the week we might be able to do the event cheaper for you.
4. Location
Location affects the hire cost as the more miles we have to travel to the event the more in will cost in fuel. We will also have to pay our driver staff for the extra time they spend traveling.
5. Number Of Carriages
The number of carriages affects the cost as we can transport the train and 2 carriages on 1 large transport vehicle. If you are wanting 3 carriages for your land train we will need another vehicle to transport the extra carriage.
6. Difficulty And Length Of The Route
The length of the route you would like us to drive affects the cost because the land train is powered by a diesel engine and the further we travel the more it will cost in fuel. The difficulty of the route effects the cost because if the route is has a lot of hills the land train will use more fuel as it will need more power to travel up the hill.

Branding Opportunities
When hiring a land train with us you will also have the opportunity to advertise on the tops of the land train carriages. Adverting on the top of the carriages is a amazing way to advertise as the land train gets a lot of attention so it is very cost effective.
A lot of our clients like to get sponsorship to hire the land train and this can be done by offering the adverting space to your sponsor. This is a perfect way to cut the cost down of hiring the land train and sometimes depending on the amount sponsored you could even make a profit.
